Having admired Craig’s carpentry skills over a number of shows that I had been demonstrating at, I finally got the chance to have a chat with him. This was the start of a number of conversations I would have with Craig before finally being in the position to purchase one of his great fly dresser’s in oak. I am extremely pleased with the bespoke dresser that Craig has designed for me. The quality, attention to detail and superb craftmanship cannot be faulted. Every detail is thoughtfully considered with great care and attention to your own specific needs even down to the delivery of the dresser to your house by Craig himself. I commissioned 2 pieces of work from Hilditch wood designs. From start to finish Craig was professional and accommodating and this resulted in a transformation in my treatment room. The cupboard safely houses my sound bowls and Accupunture needles, whilst the ladder shelf enables me to display my crystals. I highly recommend the quality and craftsmanship and can’t wait to have another piece made.

From start to finish you made the experience a great pleasure, together we took the standard product and modified it to become effectively a custom built unit. Your input was always constructive and enhanced the final product. As you are aware I required the breakfront to mount my vice and then realised having a single drawer would render the drawer unusable unless the vice was removed. We came up with the idea of twin drawers in the centre to enable the drawers to be opened independently, without removing the vice. On the left hand drawer you made a removable shelf which doubles up as an extra worksurface which is most useful. As I have plenty of shelves in my study there was not a requirement for the shelf and so we agreed to have drawers where the shelf would have been. Again you came up with the idea that having an extra 100mm of desk surface would be beneficial and so right you were. Your internal trays for hooks are anther godsend and of course personalising one of the other drawers to my measurements for different tools and markers etc works a treat. I am also very pleased with the desk you made that matches the dresser so my furniture in the study matches. Your delivery and final assembly without a rushing was much appreciated. Will have to think of something else I need you to make!!!!

Following some bad experiences with more than one of the BIG NAMES in furniture design; I serendipitously stumbled upon Hilditch Wood Design through an advert in Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Magazine. I am a difficult customer; I am under no illusion. I have very specific requirements, extremely high standards and an eye for detail. I am all about Quality. Happily, Craig was able to work with me to understand my requirements, design a solution to meet those requirements and install my Fly Tying Desk - all to my greatest satisfaction. In fact, I was so happy with his first installation that I have commissioned him to make multiple additional pieces for my company office. Solid oak furniture is not cheap but Hilditch Wood Design offers great value for my money. Price is what you pay and value is what you get. It's not just that Craig offers a great Design/Make service; he offers the only one for me.

My husband is a keen fisherman and loves to tie his own flies. Like many he had an array of boxes and bags containing his materials and he started to look for storage and dedicated workspace.Craigs work was advertised in a fishing magazine and from the  first e mail a great conversation started about what my hubby needed.The design was adjusted, combining plenty of storage and working space.The desk was made to measure to fit a specific space in the study.The end result is a heritage piece of oak furniture and practical working space.Craig delivered and installed the desk and the workmanship and quality of wood and fixtures is outstanding.The next generation already has their eye on it and my husband can now easily spend time trying flies.
